Fern Tsao has been a pioneer in bringing Chinese medicine to the State of Maine. Born in Taipei,Taiwan to a traditional Chinese Medical Practitioner, Fern studied Acupuncture and Herbology, and also received her degree in Nursing and Midwifery from the Taiwan Professional Medical College. She practiced her nursing skills when she first came to North America. In 1972, Fern returned to her background in Chinese Medicine when she established a thriving Acupuncture center in Gardiner, Maine. In 1984, she relocated to Yarmouth, Maine, where she became well-known in the medical community as the leading alternative healthcare provider in Central and Southern Maine. Fern is State licensed and national board certified in Acupuncture, Herbology, and NAET allergy elimination. Her degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine is from Hunan Provincial Research Center. Fern develops new treatments and skills through continuing education programs around the country and by returning to study in China every year. She currently practices in both our Yarmouth and York offices.
Maureen Tsao is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine with her mother Fern, and is the fifth generation continuing a family tradition in the practice and art of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. She studied formally at Pacific Institute of Chinese Medicine and received her Master's Degree from the New England School of Acupuncture. Maureen incorporates Homeopathy in her practice as well as Acupuncture, Chinese herbs and allergy elimination. She also is state licensed and nationally board certified and continues her education and training in programs around the United States and in China. Maureen is also a graduate of Smith College and the University of San Francisco School of Law. Maureen has been a frequent contributor to Dr. Christiane Northrup's newsletter, as well as Dr. Northrup's book, The Wisdom of Menopause.
John Tsao is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine with his mother Fern and is the fifth generation continuing a family tradition in the practice and art of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. John received his Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Vermont and has a Masters Degree from New England School of Acupuncture. John incorporates in his practice, Chinese herbs and allergy elimination (NAET). John is state licensed and nationally board certified, and continues his education and training in programs around the United States and in China.
Lana Tsao, MD and Kai Tsao, MD, also are in the Acupuncture Associates of Maine family business on a consultant basis.
